homes that sell fast never have these 3 things
Let’s break this down 👇🏻
I’ve seen a lotttt of houses in Jupiter, FL and Palm Beach County, and some stand out more than others. But even though our market is in transition, there are three things I NEVER see in houses that move quickly:
1. Clutter or proof of life. I don’t just mean hoarder-level clutter. I mean papers on the counter, picture frames on the end table, shoes by the door. Think about it: does a potential buyer want to see your toothbrush on the counter? Probably not! Homes that sell the fastest look very put together and almost like no one lives in them. Which brings us to…
2. Family photos. Listen, we all love family pictures! But they need to disappear when you’re selling your house. I have had conversations at showings about the sellers kids or wedding because there were pictures up—you don’t want buyers talking about your wedding! You want them talking about your house! My best tip is to go on Etsy and get some cheap printable art to fill any frames on your walls. Voila, instant chic.
3. Kids toys. I know this is hard. Kids have a bunch of crap! But if your home office has been converted to a playroom, convert it right back for showings. Put some toys in storage or the garage. The thing that ruins a clean aesthetic fastest is a neon toy (and I have 3 kids, I know!)
I know selling your house can feel overwhelming? But you don’t have to do it alone. I have a system to prep your home for market and get it in the best shape for buyers.
