neighborhood guide: evergrene
Ok, I’ll admit it…
(Ok, I’ll admit two things):
1. Evergrene is *technically* Palm Beach Gardens because it’s right across the Jupiter dividing line. But….
2. It is an AWESOME neighborhood for families and I am extremely biased because I live here!
My favorite part of my job might be trying to convince my clients to become my neighbors 💁🏻♀️
Evergrene is a 900-home community between Donald Ross and Hood Road that’s home to country club-style amenities and a variety of home sizes and floor plans. Here’s the nitty gritty:
PROS:
- the community has multiple manned gates and security; it’s extremely safe
- the HOA covers a wide scope of amenities including a resort-style pool, gym, pickleball courts, and a Tiki Bar, as well as cable+Internet and landscaping
- variety of home sizes and prices
- excellent A-rated schools (the Evergrene elementary kids fill their own bus!)
- perfect location near the beach, highway access, Abacoa, Alton Town Center, and easy to West Palm
CONS:
- while the HOA fee covers a lot, it is higher than other comparable neighborhoods
- Exterior renovations or anything requiring a permit also needs HOA approval
- homes are near 20 years old—some need updates and roofs
- about a quarter of residents are seasonal—some times of year are busier than others
- the lots are on the small size for the size of the homes
Whenever I have clients ask for a family-friendly neighborhood, I make sure Evergrene is on the list ✔️
